How do I change my AT&T username and password?

Here are the steps to change the ID you use to sign in to myAT&T.

·         Firstly, Go to Profile Sign-in info.

·         Select Change your user ID.

·         Enter your new ID. If you enter an existing ID, I may offer to combine them.

·         Then, check the box to save your ID, if available.

·         Save your changes.

How your Access ID works with AT&T email

If you have an AT&T Access ID with an AT&T email address related with it:

· The password will be similar on att.com and att.net.

· You can log in with your Access ID or email address to control your account or check your email.

· If you reset your password, it updates for both your Access ID and your email address.

· Remember for high security I recommend that you reset your secret key often and use a new password each time.

Reset your AT&T password with a temporary password

If you don’t remember the answers to your security questions, follow these steps.

Note: This method is only available if you have saved to your account a contact email address that is not similar from the address for which you are trying to reset the password.

1. Visit the Forgot Password page.

2. Select Password.

3. Then enter your AT&T email address and your last name.

4. Select Continue.

5. From the drop-down menu, choose to send me a temporary password.

6. Choose how you’d like the temporary password sent to you.

7. Select Continue. Check for the temporary password.

Copy the temporary password and enter it in the given field. Follow the instructions to make a new, permanent password. Reset your at&t email password with security questions

Follow these steps to change your password by proving your security questions. If you don’t remember then, you can update your security questions and answers.

1. Visit the Forgot Password page.

2. Select Password.

3. Enter the full AT&T email address and your last name.

4. Select Continue.

5. From the drop-down menu, choose I'll answer my security questions.

6. Correctly answer the security questions that you set for your account.

7. Select Continue.

8. Follow the prompts to create your new password.

Once successful, you’ll receive confirmation that your password has been changed. It may take a while for the new password to take effect. 

If the email password you change is also used to access the similar email account from your mobile, you will need to update the att.net live chat on your mobile.

Also, if you control your email through any third-party email client, make sure to update your password to ensure uninterrupted email service.
